As the Summer season draws to a close, so too does my busy work schedule. I’ve been working predominantly for Warners all across the country in places like Hereford, Somerset, Great Yarmouth and the Isle of Wight performing stand up comedy. I’ve had a great time and met some really great people along the way. One thing I won’t miss is sitting in the motorway traffic but it comes with the job. In fact it gives me time to think and reflect on the other things going on in my life.
When I’m not on the road, I’m working in my office at home writing the new pantomime for Brick Lane Music Hall in London. It’s a side of the job many people don’t see but writing takes up an awful lot of time, especially when the writing has to be funny. Luckily I’ve been blessed with a gift that I’ve used throughout my entire career; the gift of making people laugh. It just seems to come naturally and when I write, I sit and chuckle to myself. If it makes me laugh, hopefully it’ll make the audience laugh. That’s the key! Keep your eye on my latest news page for more details on how to book your seat at Brick Lane.
I’ve started working on a new CD called ‘The Best of Paul James’. It’ll have the best hand picked songs and comedy I’ve had the pleasure of singing and performing throughout my career all in one place. It’s a work in progress at the moment but I’m aiming to get it launched in November 2015.
So while the summer sun gets lower in the sky and the darker colder nights draw in, there’s a lot to look forward to going into the Autumn and Winter. Christmas is right round the corner and so will start the fun of the pantomime season. Can’t wait.
